Picture your house, and imagine the aspects of construction that go into building it. The construction sector focuses on creation in all different mediums and fields. There isn’t only one set way to approach construction, some trades focus on building with wood and tools, some focus on melding metals together while others use bricks and mortar to create.

Manufacturing Sector

The Business Encyclopedia defines Manufacturing as the making of goods by hand or by a machine that upon completion the business sells to a customer. Items used in manufacturing may be raw materials or component parts of a larger product. The manufacturing usually happens on a large-scale production line of machinery and skilled laborers.

Engineering is a scientific field and job that involves taking our technical understanding of the natural world and using it to invent, design, and build things to solve problems and achieve practical goals. This can include development of roads, bridges, cars, planes, machines, and computers! Famous engineers include Leonardo Da Vinci, Alexander Graham Bell, Elon Musk, and Governor-General of Canada Ms. Julie Payette, an engineer and business woman who completed two space flights, logging 25+ days in space. The transportation sector helps provide people with methods of movement in all different aspects of their lives whether focusing on moving people from locations to location, transporting goods, or transporting heavy materials on construction sites.

Did you know that a modern formula 1 car can drive upside down in a tunnel at 120 miles per hour because there is enough aerodynamic downforce to make it happen?
