Our largest yearly event, Annual Skilled Career Day, will be held on Saturday, March 20, predominantly at the College of the North Atlantic on Prince Philip Drive in St. John’s. The Annual Skilled Career Day will include the Skills Canada Provincial Competition for junior high, high school and post- secondary students and apprentice finalists in skilled trades, employability skills and technologies; Skilled Trade and Technology Demonstrations (Try-A-Trade®); a Career Showcase; Competition and Campus Tours; a Skilled Futures Conference, a Partner’s Reception, a Teacher’s Reception and an Awards Ceremony with industry and government representatives.

Approximately 400 finalist students from all across Newfoundland and Labrador will be competing and the winners will go on to represent the province at the 26th Annual Skills Canada National Competition in Vancouver, British Columbia from May 28- 29, 2020. An additional 800 students will also participate in tours, the Career Showcase and Try-A-Trade® Demonstrations and a Skilled Futures Conference. Sponsors, government supporters and community group representatives interested in skills development will gather for a Partner’s Reception in conjunction with Skilled Career Day.
