SKILLS CANADA

NATIONAL COMPETITION

Most Provincial Gold Medalists advance to represent Team Newfoundland *nationally* at the Skills Canada National Competition

The Skills Canada National Competition remains the only national, Olympic-style, multi-trade and technology competition for young students and apprentices in the country. Every year, this competition brings together over 500 young people from all provinces/territories within Canada to compete in over 40 trade, technology and employability skill areas.

The main goal of this event is to provide competitors with hands-on work experience and to raise awareness for the general population of the value and challenge in skilled trade and technology careers.

Top placing performers vie for medals of gold, silver and bronze in hopes to be named a Skills Canada National Medalist.

Every year, Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador brings a team of over 100 individuals (50 competitors and over 50 coaches, delegates and instructors) to the Skills Canada National Competition.
