The Skills Canada National Competition remains the only national, Olympic-style, multi-trade and technology competition for young students and apprentices in the country. Every year, this competition brings together over 500 young people from all provinces/territories within Canada to compete in over 40 trade, technology and employability skill areas.
In response to the ongoing global pandemic the Skills Canada National Competition will no longer be held in Québec City in June 2021. Thanks to technology, SCC’s annual flagship event will be offered virtually instead. SCC will be hosting virtual competitions and fun interactive challenges for youth across Canada.
This decision provides certainty which will allow us to work with our stakeholders to deliver diverse, relevant, effective and engaging content that will continue to bring awareness of skilled trade and technology careers for Canadian youth.
The 2021 national events and activities will not include the WorldSkills Team Canada 2022 selection event for WorldSkills Shanghai 2022. Stay tuned for additional information on the WorldSkills Team Canada selection process.
